Following are the basic requirements for 03/06 months Basic Trade Course (360 hrs) as per Probidhan, Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB):
1. Minimum Qualification Class Eight pass. But General Electronics trade requires SSC Pass (Higher qualification is preferable in all trades).
2. Age – Not below 12 years. Upper age is not bounded.

Generally admission circular is published 03/04 times in Daily Newspapers mostly in Dainik Azadi or other allied daily newspapers publishes from Chattogram before admission activities start. BNTI conducts 02 batches (Jan-Jun and Jul-Dec) each year. So admission circular generally publishes mostly in May-Jun and Nov-Dec. Moreover Digital Banner, Poster, Leaflet is also displayed/circulated in most visible area for the benefit of interested candidate in Chattogram town and nearby about admission activities. Generally we prefer interested students along with their guardian are to visit Bangladesh Navy Dockyard Technical Institute in Jun–July or Dec-Jan each year physically and complete necessary admission formalities as per admission circular. Because, students and guardian can exchange their views with Institute Management directly and can get opportunity to be knowledgeable up to their satisfaction.

Online admission process is also kept open for the benefit of distant students. In that case under mentioned process are to follow:

b. Download Admission Form.
c. Fill up Form.
d. Attached necessary documents.
e. Pay course and other relevant fee through PAY ORDER/ DD against Account “Dockyard CSTI Maritime Training Fund, no 0029-0310025136’’.

f. Send all documents including photocopy of PO/DD to Principal, BN Dockyard Technical Institute, BN Dockyard Area, Post- Sailors Colony, EPZ, Chattogram, Mobile- 01746637622/01769726948 through Currier/ Registered Post/ other means.
g. Deposit Original PO/DD to BNTI on arrival at Institute.
h. Face admission formalities as per schedule.
i. Get admit card after final selection.
Note- If a student does not qualify for admission ,after deducting Tk 500/00 remaining money will be returned to individual candidate.
